The opportunity to shop online at eBay and get delivery services from Argos is headed to the European Continent. The two forces have joined hands in order to lend their goods and venue respectively to online shoppers. Over 50 eBay merchants will take part in this experimental undertaking. And at least 150 Argos stores will carry the products.
Click & Collect Service is expected to grow by leaps and bounds in the UK. The three watchwords of the experience are: selection, ease and fast delivery. It is basically a seamless operation that will leave shoppers feeling breathtakingly exhilarated after the high of a shopping spree.
Click & Collect is a miscegenation of online and offline shopping. It allows users to place orders and have them arrive at their doorsteps in a jiffy without any hassles. And although the idea is not new, its biggest plus point is that it works in real life. Argos is a big venue for shopaholics in the UK. It is the ideal physical junction outside of cyberspace for selling eBay’s products.
Amazon Locker is a similar service that already exists. In the United States, $5 is the nominal fee for shipping. What it will be in the UK is yet to be revealed.
eBay President, Devin Wenig said, “The distinction between offline and online shopping continues to blur. At eBay we continue to find new ways to connect buyers and sellers. Our mission is connecting people with the things they need and love. Traditional retail isn’t going away; it is transforming. Smart retailers are innovating, reimagining the store and what it means to shop. We’re proud to join Argos on this journey. Their unique store network and operating model is fit for serving customers in a digital future. This exciting pilot takes us one step nearer to our goal of offering customers an inspired and seamless shopping experience.”
