Microsoft to Merge its Windows and Windows Phone into Single App Store

Microsoft to Merge its Windows and Windows Phone into Single App Store

It was bound to happen. Microsoft’s Terry Myerson told the staff about the melding of the app stores for Windows and Windows Phone. This unified store will support both new models of Windows and Windows Phone. The modified version is known as Windows 8.1. Much of the talk still has an aura of rumor about it. The details aren’t in yet.

With over 50,000 apps under its belt, the app store has really expanded beyond the average range. However, the app production has slowed down in recent times. Terry Myerson, the Executive Vice President at Microsoft, spoke of how there ought to be a single pair of developer APIs on all of their gadgets.

Provided that Microsoft succeeds in this venture, it will mean that all of its products and services will be brought together under one roof. This will surely be a source of convenience and relative comfort for customers. There won’t be any more hassles regarding choice since everything will be available in a single spot.

Microsoft has certain qualities that make it stand out among giant software firms. Its founder is no ordinary man. He is a genius of the highest order. And though Bill Gates doesn’t interfere much in Microsoft’s matters, it is his vision and forethought that has seen the company through the tough times.
