What still to Expect from Apple in 2013

Apple set a new sales record with the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch a week ago. It sold 9 million iPhones in the first weekend. Now that the new iPhones are here, what else is Apple releasing this year? The most obvious new releases are expected in the iPad line. The Apple iPad is getting a bit outdated and needs a dramatic refresh that cuts weight and thickness. The iPad 5 is expected to bring more performance and fingerprint sensor in a new case design similar to that of the iPad mini.

The iPad mini is maybe getting a Retina display, but this is not a sure bet. Apple is also seen to update the iPod touch for 2013. The iPad event is rumored for October 15.

Apple has already last week released new iMacs. With the release os OS X Mavericks end of October, we also expect to see new MacBook Pro laptops, Mac Mini and the already announced Mac Pro. The MacBook Air should also get a performance upgrade.

Besides the tablets and computers, Apple is expected to release a new Apple TV box. If there will a new iPod nano or iPod shuffle is not clear. Here though Apple could surprise with an interim iWatch. The iPod mini could shape shift again to be worn as a watch and get enhanced with smartwatch features found in the Samsung Galaxy Gear.

The new Apple products are going to be announced all in October.

Apple is set to have an exciting fall and holiday season with the release of iOS 7 and OS Maverick in addition to a slew of new devices including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 5, iPad mini 2, Mac Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and MacBook Pro. There might also be something completely new that we do not know about. It is likely not the iWatch, which is expected for 2014.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
