Xi3 just announced the release date for its Piston gaming console. The company picked Black Friday 2013 to release the $999 console.
Black Friday can be a great day to launch a product, if it makes a difference for the Piston console remains to be seen. At $999 this gaming console is aimed at a small market of hard-core gamers that are also early adopters. Xi3 promises that the bar has been raised. The Piston is smaller, lighter, and will last longer, provide more gaming options and be more powerful than any other gaming console on the planet. At $999 it is though just too expensive to compete with the Xbox One and the PS4, who will rule this Holiday shopping season.

Xi3 will reveal more details about the Piston until Black Friday, November 29. Today they revealed tha the storage capacity support doubled. The Piston ships with 128GB SSD. One of the coolness factors of the Piston is its small size. It fits in the palm of your hands.
As previously announced the Piston Console comes equipped with a quad-core x86-based 64-bit processor integrated with 384 programmable discrete class graphics cores capable of running the most popular games. PISTON further supports up to 4K-resolution (4096x2160 pixels) and provides users with the ability to run three high-definition monitors or displays simultaneously to provide a fully immersive gaming experience.
You can pre-order the Piston here.
This year Black Friday is rather late falling on November 29th. In 2012, Black Friday was on November 23rd. Retailers will have four full weeks to please you with special Black Friday 2013 sales until the culmination of the actual Black Friday and the encore on Cyber Monday 2013 (December 2nd).
