Furloughs called off at Black Hawk Maker

It is not just government employees that get hit hard by the government shutdown. The longer the shutdown takes the more it spills over into the private sector. Government contractors like United Technologies Corp., maker of the Black Hawk helicopter already felt the impact.

Bloomberg reports that UTC could just avoid a furlough of up to 4,000 workers. The Pentagon has is bringing back 90% of its employees this week including personal that inspects and work with contractors like UTC. Besides UTC no other contractor has called off its furlough plans, but the new week is just about to start. Expect new reports to break later today.

There is no movement visible in Washington about solving this crisis. Most expect that the government shutdown will still go on for the whole week.
