NeoGeo X Gold Game Console Killed after License Dispute

You better buy one while you can get any stock is left

I can remember back in the day when one of the coolest game consoles to have was the NeoGeo. I can also remember that console was incredibly expensive meaning most of us who wanted one never got to have one. If you wanted one of those consoles growing up, you may have been excited to hear about the NeoGeo X Gold console that was a new version of that classic console that launched earlier this year.

If you've been waiting to get your hands on one, you may have run out of time. Reports indicate that the liscensed owner of the console hardware, a company called SNK Playmore has terminated its licensing agreement with Tommo.

Tommo Inc was the company behind the new NeoGeo X Gold console. SNK has ordered Tommo to stop producing console hardware and to recover all existing hardware from retail and online stock. Reports indicated that as of Saturday, you could still find the hardware available online. SNK said, "In order to protect our intellectual property rights such as 'NEOGEO' and 'SNK', decisive measures will be taken against all unapproved NEOGEO X products not subject to the License Agreement.
