GTA V Lands Seven Guinness World Records

GTA V is officially in the record books

Grand Theft Auto V has easily become the most popular video game of 2013 and has set records making it one of the most popular video games ever made. The game sold more than $1 billion so far and made $800 million of that money in the first 24 hours.

The people at the Guinness World Records office have recognized the performance of the videogame with not one but seven official world records. The game broke the record for best-selling action-adventure videogame in 24 hours, best-selling videogame in 24 hours, fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion, and the highest grossing videogame in 24 hours.

Other record smashed by GTA V include the highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours and a record for the most viewed trailer for an action-adventure videogame. Even though the game is been available for several weeks it continues to place number two on the videogame sales charts showing that it has staying power.
