The Electronics Benefits Transfer system had a malfunction over the weekend causing trouble for Walmart stores in Louisiana.
Walmart Store in Louisiana got a taste of Black Friday past weekend. A glitch in the Electronics Benefits Transfer system (EBT) removed the spending limit on digital cards of Food Stamps recipients.

Shoppers apparently took full advantage of the removed limit and kept on shopping. Walmart decided to keep on charging the cards. The temporary glitch was caused by a power outage according to this report on CBS News.
The error was fixed pretty quickly and the "free" shopping spree was over pretty soon. You can watch the TV report about the incident below.
