Smart watch will launch next month
A lot of manufacturers are jumping to get into the smart watch market as fast as companies are getting into the activity tracking bracelet market. Sports apparel manufacturer Adidas announced a new smart watch this week that combines the functions of a traditional smart watch with an activity tracking bracelet. The new watch is called the miCoach Smart Run.

The watch is aimed at avid runners and has integrated heart rate monitor, the ability to play MP3 music, and a virtual coach that speaks to you through a connected Bluetooth headset. The watch can also track statistics such as your speed, distance, and route using a built-in accelerometer and GPS connectivity.
The watch has a 1.45-inch color touchscreen and is a standalone device needing no smartphone to operate. Most of the other smart watches on the market do require a Bluetooth connection with the smartphone functionality. I will say the Adidas smart watch isn't particularly attractive being a big and bulky device. The waffle reportedly launch in November for $399.
