iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina Display will be the Hottest Holiday Gifts of 2013

It was clear that Apple will unveil the new iPad 5 and the iPad mini with retina display today at the media event. The surprises have been that the new iPad 5 will be called iPad Air. Apple managed to cut down the thickness to 7.5mm and the weight to 1 pound. The iPad mini will finally get the retina display, but it also will have the same power as the iPad Air. It runs also on the A7 CPU.

The iPad mini with retina display will become the hottest holiday gift of 2013. I am already certain of it. It is priced at $399. The current iPad mini will sell for $100 less. The iPad Air will go on sale on November 1 and the iPad mini with retina display later in November.

Apple is set to have an exciting fall and holiday season with the release of iOS 7 and OS Maverick in addition to a slew of new devices including the iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPad 5, iPad mini 2, Mac Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and MacBook Pro. There might also be something completely new that we do not know about. It is likely not the iWatch, which is expected for 2014.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
