Telefonica Vivo has decided to launch Firefox Operating System smartphones in Brazil. These Firefox OS smartphones include 4-inch LG Fireweb and Alcatel Onetouch.

LG has also launched its own Firefox OS smartphone called Fireweb following the footsteps of ZTE Open. LG Fireweb is the company's first Mozilla's Firefox OS smartphone that is headed to Brazil via Telefonica Vivo. The Firefox Operating System that Telefonica Vivo is bringing to the Brazilian high tech market is already for sale in Spain, Colombia and Venezuela. In synch with Mozilla, the company will also launch the Firefox OS in Peru, Uruguay and Mexico in the coming times. The opening up of Brazilian shores to smartphones and operating systems is a landmark achievement in the annals of high technology.

The Open Source facility will also help in the evolution of the system to a more free and reliable platform for the user base. It is basically a moment of historical importance where the brand new features of the device come at an affordable price. The World Wide Web will be accessible to a whole lot of people thanks to the steps taken by Telefonica Vivo who is launching both FireFox OS phones of LG Fireweb and Alcatel Onetouch.

LG Fireweb is a 4-inch smartphone with screen resolution of 480x320p. It is running Firefox OS version 1.1. Other specs include a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 5MP camera and 4GB data storage capacity that is expandable. This is also the very first Firefox OS phone that carries an LED flash along with the capability of auto-focusing.

Telefonica Vivo is now offering LG Fireweb for all at retail price of $207 US or $449 BRL. But the Vivo subscribers can get their hands on the device for just $59 US or $129 BRL. A detail specs sheet is present at Vivo website that shows that LG Fireweb will be delivered in 6 working days.

Both on a national and an international level this Firefox operating system rocks! It truly epitomizes the saying “Think Global and Act Local.” All that is required in the way of auxiliary equipment for smart phones is provided via Telefonica’s terrific offer. The system is ten times more efficient and simpler as well as seamless.

Many large conglomerates lend a helping hand to Firefox. They include Time, EBay, Wikipedia and AOL. And possessing over four dozen apps in Brazil, this operating system furthermore has a community of 1400 developers. The Land through which the Amazon flows just got the deal of a lifetime!
