Apple is currently on top of its game. It is a high tech giant which has earned a $7.5 billion profit on sales of its iPhones, iPads and Macs. Tim Cook meanwhile discussed some of the novelty products that Apple wanted to specialize in. This is the second time in a row that Tim Cook has made mention of this fact and so maybe he means business this time around. But the actual events speak otherwise. There has not been much in the way of innovative stuff coming out of Apple during its short history under Tim Cook.
In 2011, a Jobs biography let it be known that he had plans for a new television. In 2012, Tim Cook who had just been newly appointed spoke of how Apple was not interested in small-time hobbies and instead sought a major platform from which to innovate.
Later on in that selfsame year, Tim Cook talked to the press thrice about the serious intentions of Apple regarding a radical form of television. Close but no cigar, as they say. Later on, during the current year, 2013 that is, the whole spiel about television stopped altogether. Rather than drone on and on about the yet-to-be-made TV, talk turned to an iWatch.
Meanwhile, the iPhones 5S and 5C come on the scene along with a whole slew of new product versions such as the iPad Air, iPad mini with Retina Display and the Mac Pro. Finally, coming to October of 2013, Tim Cook is saying the same things. And it is in accordance with his strategy to aid Apple’s growth. The soft-spoken Tim Cook is a man of few words but he is playing his cards right. Keep them guessing, as they say!
