Barnes & Noble Nook GlowLight is the first E Ink device with a built-in reading light. It is launched at retail price of $119. With the Nook GlowLight, Barnes & Noble are going to compete against Amazon's Paperwhite and Kobo's Aura. It is not just about an electronic book reader, but rather all about the pleasure involved in the traditional reading of a text. While it faced tough competition from rivals such as Amazon, Google and Apple, Barnes & Noble have finally hit the nail on the head with the Nook GlowLight. A slew of new upgrades are added in new Nook ebook reader. The tablet and ebook reader have parted ways. The appearance of the words on the screen will have a paper and ink look to them. The reduction of glare which causes fatigue, irritability and nervousness is another factor which goes into the making of the Nook GlowLight. Power button position is changed and it is now moved to side. Finally, a long life fuel cell is another plus point.

Seen from the exterior, the Nook looks absolutely gorgeous. Its silhouette suggests a streamlined white image of saintliness. The previous Nook devices had matt black color scheme. But new one is whiter than ever. The silicone stuff of which the outer form is built is a comfortable medium to manually manipulate. And the very low weight of the device, just 6.2 ounces, makes for convenient carrying. It is actually 15% lighter than new Amazon Paperwhite. The epithet “GlowLight” says it all. The internal soft lighting makes the text easily discernible to the naked eye. The brightness level is also adjustable.

Storage capacity is 4GB which essentially means that over 2000 books can be kept in the data device. This is indeed a bibliophile’s dream come true. At about $119 or £109, the Nook GlowLight will have a $10 discount on it for B&N book club associates.

President of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble, Jamie Iannone said, “At just $119, our high-quality, top-rated NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is an unbeatable value for customers who are seeking an unparalleled, ad-free reading experience that goes from bed to beach, day or night. NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is the first Reader to hit the market with built-in illumination for reading in the dark and includes a power adapter for quick and easy charging. NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight is fully stocked at Barnes & Noble stores and leading retailers and available today for customers to enjoy our best-in-class digital reading experience and robust content catalog at an unbelievable price.”
