Netflix has added a handful of seven 4K video titles on test basis. Netflix is aiming to become a big 4K video supplier next year for which it is now testing the footage of 4K videos.
Netflix is now making preparations to launch its Ultra HD videos next year. The first step Netflix takes is to start the 4K video streaming on test basis. Netflix is aiming to become the main 4K video provider network in 2014.
A catalog contains seven 4K videos is added this week. But the footage of these titles is same like the company uses for internal testing. GigaOm reports that the description of El Fuente: 24 MP video states “an example of 4K at 24 frames per second.” And it's just test footage to check quality and other measures.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings already said earlier during earnings call that its company wants to become “one of the big suppliers of 4k next year.” So we can expect that Netflix can start 4K and Ultra HD video streaming on regular basis next year.
