Apple Issues Takedown Notice to Website Helping People Find New Apple Gadgets

Apple says that the website was scraping data from Apple.com

Over the years gadget fans have come to rely on third-party websites to help them find where the gadgets they're looking for from Apple are available and in stock. Typically, Apple doesn't really do anything to these websites because they're facilitating the purchase of Apple's own gadgets. However, Apple has now issued a DMCA takedown notice to website called Apple-tracker.com.

Apple says that it ordered the takedown because the site "scrapes and collects data from apple.com in violation of the apple.com Internet Service Terms of Use." The site owner has opted to shut the website down immediately stating, "I'm not really interested in picking a fight with apple so... I guess it time to just say goodbye."

The website is designed to allow customers to search for iPad and iPhone stock using their zip code with filters allowing users to pick a specific carrier and specific Apple device model.
