Best Buy surprised with the announcement that the Best Buy Stores open already at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day for the Best Buy Black Friday 2013 sale. Last year it was midnight. How will Walmart respond? Last year the Walmart Black Friday sale started at 8pm on Thanksgiving Day.
Best Buy seems to feel that they missed out on sales last year with the midnight opening time. Walmart had already 4 hours open on Thanksgiving Day before shoppers could get into the Best Buy stores for Black Friday doorbuster deals. Best Buy is taking no chances this year and is already opening at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day if you like it or not. What does this early opening time mean for Walmart?

I do not think Walmart likes to have Best Buy opening Black Friday 2013 ahead of them in stores. My feeling is that Walmart is either also opening at 6pm or is even opening earlier. Another indicator for an earlier Walmart Black Friday launch on Thanksgiving Day is what ToysRUs has chosen to do. The leaked ToysRUs Black Friday 2013 ad reveals that the ToysRUs Black Friday 2013 sale is already launching at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day.
My bet is that the Walmart Black Friday 2013 sale will also launch at 5pm on Thanksgiving Day. We will know most likely next week on November 14. This is our educated guess when the Walmart Black Friday 2013 Ad will be released.
You can already shop the early Walmart Black Friday 2013 sale online on Walmart.com.
This year Black Friday is rather late falling on November 29th, 2013. Last year, Black Friday was on November 23rd. Retailers will have four full weeks to please you with special Black Friday 2013 sales until the culmination of the actual Black Friday and the encore on Cyber Monday 2013 (December 2nd).
