Flipboard introduces catalogs to boost shopping

Just in time before the holiday season arrives, popular social-network aggregation app, Flipboard, has added the a new shopping category in the content guide which lets users view curated magazines from shoppable brands including eBay, Banana Republic, Levi's, ModCloth, Birchbox, Fab, Etsy, and many more. The main goal here, the Flipboard team explains, is to allow users to purchase products on Flipboard.

Users may even create their own catalogs. To do that, simply install the updated shopping-enabled "Flip It" bookmarklet on any browser to add products from any retail site. Once bookmarked, the catalog should be able to display prices and other nifty shopping details. With the holiday season just around the corner, it might be good to start making your own gift list.
