Jean-Claude Van Damme Volvo Split Stunt is Real

Jean-Claude Van Damme is a martial arts star from the 80s (Blood Sport, etc.). I loved him back then and I still love him today. His signature skill is the total horizontal split. A new Volvo Trucks Ad shows Jean-Claude Van Damme carry out his famous split between two reversing trucks.

Volvo says that this is a live test that was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering. It is a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive. Volvo has posted some tidbits about the shoot making it more plausible that this is a real stunt. Volvo revealed that they attached small platforms behind the mirrors for Van Damme to stand on. Van Damme is 53 and apparently he can still do his signature split. Volvo also said that they had the usual safety measures in place like in an action movie production. This safety ropes are not visible in the ad. Watch the Van Damme Volvo ad below.
