Volvo says that this is a live test that was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering. It is a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive. Volvo has posted some tidbits about the shoot making it more plausible that this is a real stunt. Volvo revealed that they attached small platforms behind the mirrors for Van Damme to stand on. Van Damme is 53 and apparently he can still do his signature split. Volvo alsosaid that they had the usual safety measures in place like in an action movieproduction. This safety ropes are notvisible in the ad. Watch the Van Damme Volvo ad below.
