Could the Dallas Cowboys Hit Rock Bottom in 2014?

Source: Bleacher Report

Chicago Bears Minicamp
No team has ever gone 8-8 four years in a row, so the odds don't favor that happening to the Dallas Cowboys in 2014. In fact, there's a chance the Cowboys, who have merely been surviving for the last few years, it seems, will be tested with somewhat of a sink-or-swim season.  The only other two teams in NFL history to go 8-8 three straight seasons both experienced dramatic changes in the standings i ...

These brands choose to hug their haters

Pictures From The Fringe Presents "Saving Lincoln" World Premiere
You can’t please all of the people all of the time, the saying goes. And on social media, sometimes you’re lucky if you can please any of the people ever at all. Certain brands seem predestined to take a beating whatever they tweet. There are simply some companies — think airlines, fast food chains and certain cable providers — that people love to hate. But increasingly, brands are becoming self-aware. And the more savvy of them have learned there can be an ...

Miles Austin hoping to return to form with Browns

Source: SBNation

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2014 - Backstage & Audience
Miles Austin signed a "prove it" deal with the Cleveland Browns this offseason. Can he return to 2009-10 form? It took a full 32 games in the NFL before it was clear that Miles Austin was going to be a special receiver. The 33rd game of the 2009 season was the one that confirmed the notion: he caught 10 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs. The n ...

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2014 - Backstage & Audience
There’s a lot to like about the 2014 Dallas Cowboys. The defense is still pretty terrible, and that means big opportunity all around for quite a few of the offensive players. Many people are pretty excited about the fantasy football potential this year for Tony Romo and Dez ...

Who Are the Most Underrated Players on the Dallas Cowboys?

Source: Bleacher Report

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2014 - Backstage & Audience
Last week, I published my take on the four most overrated players on the Dallas Cowboys—a list that included tight end Jason Witten, cornerback Orlando Scandrick, right tackle Doug Free, and wide receiver Cole Beasley. I’m going to break down the most underrated players today, but I first wanted to more thoroughly describe what I mean by "overrated" or "underrated." When I label Witten as an overrated player, it’s not ...

Cowboys Should Save Every Penny They Have Until 2015

Source: Bleacher Report

A report this week from ESPN.com's Calvin Watkins stated that the once cap-broke Dallas Cowboys now actually have approximately $8.5 million in salary-cap space, which according to Watkins is better than NFC East rivals New York and Washington. And that jives with numbers provided by Over the Cap, which estimates the 'Boys are slightly above the league median with $8.3 million in space. Naturally, because the Cowboys have some glaring needs on defense ...

Why DeMarco Murray Is True Key to Dallas Cowboys' 2014 Campaign

Source: Bleacher Report

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards 2014 - Backstage & Audience
There are some higher-profile members of the Dallas Cowboys roster, but the true key to this team's success in 2014 lies in the offense's backfield. DeMarco Murray was able to put up career-high numbers last season but was largely underutilized. If Murray is given more opportunities this year, Dallas has a strong chance of breaking out of mediocrity. The rusher posted 1,121 yards on the ground with nine touchdowns last season. ...

DeMarco Murray Could Be in for a Breakout Season in Dallas

Source: Bleacher Report

We cannot predict what will happen to DeMarco Murray in terms of his health. We cannot state with certainty that the Dallas Cowboys running back—who has already missed 11 games and parts of others during his three-year career due to various injuries—will play a full season for the first time since becoming an NFL running back.  But we're ready to conclude that if Murray can stay on the field, the 26-year-old is destined to arrive at his p ...

Dallas Cowboys: Creating the Blueprint for Optimal Offense in 2014

Source: Bleacher Report

Detroit Lions Training Camp
The Dallas Cowboys offense has all the tools to be one of the very best in the NFL but have underperformed in recent years. Getting the most out of this offense is not a difficult puzzle to solve, however. The key for this unit to live up to its potential is simply balance. Last season, Dallas posted the No. 14 passing offense but posted a below-average No. 24 rushing attack. The best way for both parts of the offense to improve is to feed the ball to DeMarco Murray early and often in ...
