Apple is going to use iBeacons in its retail stores. iPhone maker is reportedly start stocking iBeacon transmitters which will be installed soon in its retail stores all across Unites States. But for what purpose?
iBeacons is a brand new location-based technology that allows to wirelessly finding the locations of items in a retail store. Actually the iBeacon transmitters installed in a retail store, will wirelessly connect with and iPhone and tells its location according to items on shelves. Very smart.
Yes, it is smart as it is also going work in combination with Apple's previously installed iPad-based “Smart Signs”. The iPad app only provides additional info about Apple’s MacBooks, iPods, and other devices. But this iPad app in combination with iBeacons will work as a “Smart Sign” for all types of accessories present on the shelves. It looks like that Apple made iBeacons for its stores like one developer said, “iBeacon seems like it was created with Apple Retail in mind,” according to 9to5Mac.
It is also said that Apple is going to introduce this technology with an Apple Store iPhone app update. And iPhone can also perform additional functions with the specialized app. Apple is said to install these iBeacon transmitters on the tables with Apple products and also in its store shelves for accessories too.
Due to this iBeacons service, the customers can not only locate the product and walk up to get it, but they will also get alerts or notifications on their iPhone. These mobile notifications will provide customers some more details about the products like pricing and other features. This new iBeacons technology will surely improve the shopping experience of customers on Apple Stores. As a result, Apple product sales will be boosted.
