Android 4.4 KitKat Update Starts Hitting Google Play Edition Samsung GS4 and HTC One

The wait to get Android 4.4 Kit Kat update is finally over for Google Play edition Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. Google has announced that "Starting today, Samsung GS4 and HTC One Google Play edition devices are getting an update to Android 4.4!"

Android 4.4 KitKat is the Google's latest operating system that was unveiled last month. Google Nexus 5 is the first device that comes with Android 4.4 OS. Later on, this updated has been gradually rolling out to other Nexus devices and Moto X. But now the Google Play editions of HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are also updated with Android 4.4 KitKat.

This update is rolling out as a 300MB over-the-air download. But for HTC One, this update is just like Motorola's Moto X. It means that Google Play edition HTC One pure Android OS does not have "Google Experience Launcher" feature that is present in Nexus 5.

But both Google Play edition devices will surely get all the new features present in the updated platform. These include a built-in pedometer, improved camera application and multitasking, and long lasting battery life.
