Target started with a bang this holiday season. The Black Friday sales initiative had the clientele in a shopping frenzy. The offers were marvelously mouthwatering. The gifts the guests wanted got delivered with record speed. And whether the shopping was done via cyberspace, through mobile phones or in-store, it took place in huge quantities. It was almost like the stuff was for free. Such were the crowds that accumulated in shopping hours that there was barely elbow room. Meanwhile, the team at Target provided the best and most hospitable experience for the shoppers. Thanksgiving was indeed a time for merriment and a revolution in retail therapy.
“Our guests told us they want top gifts at a great value, and our team delivered,” said Gregg Steinhafel, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Target . “Whether online, on their mobile devices, or in our stores, guests shopped Target in unprecedented numbers. And, as always, our team provided the exceptional experience our guests have come to expect from Target.”
The traffic and sales were at their peak early in the day when the crowds arrived. The response from the guests was beyond the expectations of the staff at Target. “Starting in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day on Target.com, through our Thanksgiving night store openings, traffic across all channels was strong,” said Jeff Jones, executive vice president and Chief Marketing Officer, Target. “I’m excited to see how guests respond to Target’s unbeatable value through this weekend, CyberWeek and the rest of the holiday season.”
Among the list of in-demand goods were: the iPad Air, large screen TVs, Nintendo, the Nikon L320 camera and the Dyson DC35 vacuum cleaner. Special offers were availed with great vigor. Deep discounts were given on many items. Black Friday sale at Target is still running today until supplies last. Meanwhile, Target’s Cyber Week will begin from the 1st of December. Over 100,000 products will be displayed and sold. And the deals on women’s and men’s clothing along with children’s toys and electronic gadgets will wow the groups of desire-driven shoppers.
