PayPal and eBay Enterprise reports increase in mobile shopping this Thanksgiving

Just how popular is mobile shopping? PayPal and eBay Enterprise are reporting an increase in mobile shopping this Thanksgiving weekend. PayPal's data reveals that this year's Thanksgiving saw a 91 percent increase in shopping through PayPal mobile. Also, the mobile third-party verification (TPV) also skyrocket to an all-time high 114.7 percent compared to last year.

Stacy General, a PayPal customer experience advocate, says that although consumers in the U.S. took to their mobile devices to shop throughout the day, the busiest time was between 7:00 and 8:00pm PT. Meanwhile, eBay Enterprise is reporting a similar increase in mobile shopping.

According to the company, which handles e-commerce experiences of popular retailers, visits across mobile devices went up to 130 percent on Thanksgiving day. Free shipping appeared to be the promotion of choice for consumers shopping at eBay Enterprise retailers on Thanksgiving Day 2013, with 72% of orders including free shipping, an increase of 48% compared to Thanksgiving Day 2012, eBay Enterprise reports
