Microsoft is reportedly working on a wave of updates to its Windows-based platforms. And it is titled “Threshold” which gets the point across in a bold way. Microsoft Threshold will arrive on the scene in spring 2015.

After Microsoft’s Operating Systems got launched, there were rumors regarding some pretty cool “Threshold” devices that will be arriving two years from now. If all goes as planned, this new addition will greatly influence the three platforms of Xbox One, Windows and Windows Phone.

As for the title, it is derived from the name of the planet in the Halo game which came out in 2001. The new system will be entering the likes of Cortana, which is Microsoft’s rejoinder to Apple’s Siri.  Threshold is not one thing alone. It has many features that are spread out over many platforms. These include hand sets, gadgets and video games. Microsoft’s dream of a single app store may not be so unrealistic after all. It is definitely getting there.

Threshold will serve as the common factor uniting several platforms. The great value placed on certain activities will figure in the Threshold equation that Microsoft has almost solved. Among these activities may be included: showing/formats; choice/goal-directed behavior; information technology control and finally serious comicality.

The outgoing CEO, Steve Ballmer had previously passed some remarks regarding the One Microsoft plan that was to be put into action.  When Microsoft spokespersons were asked they refused to divulge any details. Whatever the case, Microsoft is ready to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Despite players such as Apple in the field, Bill Gates’ firm is not one to back down from a challenge.
