These 4 World Cup pots are based on the football world rankings of October. World Cup pot #1 is based on seeded countries. Pot #1 includes: Colombia, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Uruguay and Switzerland.
Pot #4 is based on nine non-seeded European teams including: Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, England, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Russia. Out of these nine teams, one will be switched to Pot #2 before the draw. During the draw, this switched team will be placed in a group with one of the four South American teams.
