Sky has just announced that its popular rental movie service called Sky Store is now available for everyone in the UK and the Republic of Ireland (ROI).
Sky Store rental movie service was originally launched for Sky TV customers only. But the UK broadcasting giant has now opened its doors for everyone in the UK and ROI. Now the viewers in any home with a broadband connection in the UK and ROI can stream more than 1200 movies quickly to their TV or laptop using Sky's own website.
They can also watch rented movies via NOW TV Box, Roku or YouView box using the Sky Store app available from today onwards. Customers just need to set-up an account on the Sky Store website. They can then log-in to the Sky Store app on their box using their account as well as select and pay for the movie they want to stream instantly via their box onto their TV or laptop.
Sky Store will charge users £3.49 on a rental basis. But this is the rate for the latest movies like Man of Steel, The Hangover Part 3, Despicable Me 2 and The Lone Ranger. But older movies such as the Godfather, Forrest Gump, Top Gun and Austin Powers are now available for nominal prices that range from 99p-£1.99.
