Bungie announced the worldwide launch date of Destiny on Friday. The release of Destiny is being delayed from early 2014 to September 9th, 2014.

Bungie, in partnership with Activision, has set a launch date for its next-generation game titled Destiny. The famous Halo creator, Bungie is all set to release Destiny worldwide on September 9th, 2014. Destiny was originally set to debut in early 2014. But its launch is being delayed as "Destiny represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" for Bungie.

Bungie said in a blog post, "We first shared the design pillars of Destiny less than a year ago. We also promised to redefine what players should expect from a Bungie game. And we said we wanted to change the way people play games together. So we set our bar high."

This might be the reason that Bungie has delayed the launch date Destiny. The delay of is bad news for anxious gamers. But Bungie believes that the delay "is the right decision" for the game, the studio and the passionate community of gamers.

Also, gamers do not have to wait till September 9th. How, you may ask? Well, because Bungie has announced the launch of its Destiny Beta for the general public in the summer of 2014. This public beta version of Destiny will be available first on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Later on, this beta version will hit Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well. The Destiny title will be available for all four gaming consoles at the moment of its official launch.
