Motorola Moto G smartphone shipments delayed thanks to Texas Ice Storm

There are a few things you expect when you live in Texas. We expect weather that changes by the hour and insanely high temperatures in the summer. One thing we don't expect in the winter is ice and snow. It rarely gets cold enough for winter weather to happen in most parts of Texas. That was not the case last week when a big ice storm rolled in and coated the DFW metroplex with inches of ice and snow.

Since Texas isn't a state where that sort of weather is common, people weren't ready to handle the bad weather. The bad weather also affected Motorola and the company has announced that thanks to the weather shipments of the Moto G smartphone have been delayed.

Engadget reports that Motorola told one customer that inquired about his Moto G smartphone that winter storm Dion had put a crimp in operations at the Fort Worth, Texas fulfillment center. The message told the customer that the ordered Moto G device didn’t ship when it was originally estimated.

The message goes on to say that the Moto G will be shipped by December 14 with an upgrade to overnight delivery. The bad weather in that part of Texas is over so there should be no more delays.

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
