The new Givenchy advertising campaign stars iconic Erykah Badu. The choice is raising quite a lot of attention. According to Style, designer Riccardo Tisci had Erykah Badu on his mind when designing the Givenchy Spring 2014 collection. Erykah Badu is super stylish and therefore her to venture into modeling is not that surprising. The buzz on social media is quite positive about the pairing up of Badu and Givenchy. See some selected Tweets below.

The new Givenchy collection is inspired by African and Japanese influences. Besides Erykah Badu, Tisci uses Maria Borges, Riley, and Asia Chow as models for the new campaign.

Erykah Badu describes herself on Facebook as a “mother first”, Badu is a touring artist, producer, dj, teacher, community activist, holistic healer, doula, vegan, and conscious spirit. Erykah Badu is best known for her eccentric style and cerebral music. The Grammy Award-winning performer is regarded as the Queen of Neo Soul.
