Apple is reportedly keeping the partnership with TSMC and Samsung in terms of developing its upcoming chips
Digitimes, a Taiwan based company, reported that Samsung and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) would develop Apple’s next processors.
According to Apple Balla, Samsung, Apple’s fierce competitor, will reportedly continue constructing the chips up to at least 2015. On the other hand, TSMC has been engaged with the development of different chips of the next version of the iPhone which is rumored to be revealed in the upcoming year.
TSMC has already started the construction of Apple’s A series chips. In case of the future chips, a technology called “FinFET” is going to be used, ultimately leading them to a stage closer to the features of Intel’s chips. Samsung, the Korean tech titan, is also predicted to apply the similar technology in their manufactured chips.
After a series of patent battles between Apple and Samsung, it was predicted that the partnership between the two companies will be finished very soon. However, it has been strongly indicated that Apple will still work with Samsung to bring more innovations in their product which will help the tech giant to strengthen its position in the market to a great extent.
