Pebble today asked its developers to saddle up for a dedicated Pebble smartwatch app store that is coming in early next year. Actually, Pebble has just announced that it is going to launch its own app store for its smartwatches in early 2014.

Pebble said, "The Pebble appstore will be a first-of-its-kind wearable tech application directory—giving Pebble users a one-stop-shop for searching, browsing, and installing Pebble watchfaces and apps directly from the iOS or Android Pebble smartphone app."
The famous smartwatch maker has given early access of this new app store to Pebble app developers. Pebble Developer Portal is now open through which app developers can now upload their Pebble apps. These apps will be available in the upcoming Pebble smartwatch appstore. Pebble smartwatch users can directly download new apps, watch faces and other third-party software via the Pebble's iOS or Android smartphone apps.
Starting today, Pebble developers can submit their apps in the Pebble appstore that includes watchfaces and 6 app categories for Daily, Tools & Utilities, Remotes, Notifications, Sports & Fitness, Games and Watch Faces. And the company will feature a selection of the best apps as well as new apps in each category.

But Pebble will not support paid apps at launch. Hence, all the apps available at Pebble app store will be free for its users. However, the company allows developers to include a companion iOS or Android app if required for their Pebble app. And the developers can charge for this companion app and can add links to Google Play or the Apple App Store to help users find your app. Pebble smartwatch is already very popular and the launch of a dedicated app store will help grow its popularity among smartwatch users.
