Android 4.4 KitKat update will hit Samsung Galaxy S4 in late January. And the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will also get the Android 4.4 update in early February.
Samsung has not yet announced about the official roll out of Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS update for its flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S4. Although the Google Play Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S4 already received the Android 4.4.2 update, but not all versions of the smartphone got it. And the Google Play Edition S4 update also has very few modifications related only to speed.
But a French carrier SFR has announced that the Android 4.4 KitKat update should be available for the Samsung Galaxy S4 in late January 2014. Following the Galaxy S4 update, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will also be updated with Android 4.4 KitKat in early February 2014. But no specific date for the roll out of update is yet announced. However, SFR will tell about the exact roll out dates later upon confirmation.
And this French update news shows that the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 KitKat roll out for all the carriers around the world would likely follow the similar time frame as that of SFR. However, US carriers will reportedly update their Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note 3 devices a month later.
LG has already started rolling out KitKat update for its devices. And G2 is the first LG device to receive the Android 4.4 update. Other tech firms like Sony and HTC have also announced officially that they will update their smartphones with Android 4.4. However, the KitKat roll out date is not yet announced by both firms.
