iPhone 5c Now Available at China Mobile

Apple has finally struck a deal with world's largest carrier China Mobile. Its iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available for 700 million customers of China Mobile’s 4G & 3G Networks on starting January 17, 2014. However, Christmas day comes for Chinese with a holiday gift. They can now pre-order iPhone 5s and 5c via China Mobile website starting today. And this region has a huge potential as a lucrative financial hub for Apple.

After years of hearsay and meetings, which proved inconclusive, Apple has finally been able to convince China Mobile to allow its new iPhones on its 3G and 4G networks. This is quite an accomplishment since the Sino-sphere is a vast market of untapped potential for Apple.

The iPhones 5s and iPhone 5c are going to be on display for pre-registration starting from mid-January. The bond signed by both parties will extend indefinitely into the future. Both China Mobile stores and Apple outlets across Mainland China will be selling the iPhones. While the iPhone 5s is a luxury item, the iPhone 5c is a colorful plastic version for those on a shoestring budget.

“Apple has enormous respect for China Mobile and we are excited to begin working together. China is an extremely important market for Apple and our partnership with China Mobile presents us the opportunity to bring iPhone to the customers of the world's largest network,” said Tim Cook, Apple CEO. “iPhone customers in China are an enthusiastic and rapidly growing group, and we can’t think of a better way to welcome in the Chinese New Year than getting an iPhone into the hands of every China Mobile customer who wants one.”

While Apple’s iPhones are admired and desired throughout the Global Village, China Mobile is the largest carrier network in the world. Thus we have two equally successful enterprises joining hands in agreement. Both hold each other in high esteem and plan to cooperate after years of fruitless negotiations.

“Apple’s iPhone is very much loved by millions of customers around the world. We know there are many China Mobile customers and potential new customers who are anxiously awaiting the incredible combination of iPhone on China Mobile’s leading network. We are delighted that iPhone on China Mobile will support our 4G/TD-LTE and 3G/TD-SCDMA networks, providing customers with high-speed mobile service,” said Xi Guohua, China Mobile Chairman.

China Mobile currently has over 700 million customers. Apple on the other hand is the topmost leader in smart phones, tablets and other high tech products which are recognized throughout the world. It is indeed a match made in heaven. The Far East was a market that lay unexplored till now. But all that has changed with this pact which is expected to last for a long time.

Report: Bigger iPhones coming this fall

iPhone screens are about to get a lot bigger, if a new report is to be believed. Suppliers in China are about to start work on two new iPhones, according to an article from Bloomberg. The phones will have display screens that are 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches across, when measured diagonally — a major leap from the 4-inch displays on the iPhone 5S and 5C. Such a move would appear to be an effort to keep up with the competition. Rival smartphones, most n ...
