LG Multiroom audio system to debut at CES 2014

LG has announced a new multiroom home audio system will be coming to CES 2014 along with other audio gear. The products will include the Wireless Audio system NP8740 that allows the user to stream music around the home. The device uses a mesh network and has dual band support.

"Each wireless speaker not only produces rich sound with clarity and depth, but also sends the sound out in multiple directions," LG Electronics reports. "Several speakers can be set up in any combination of rooms, connecting an entire house under a single system."

Since the device uses mesh network technology it can be used in two ways. The system can send the same music to each speaker in the home or send different music to each speaker reports Toms Hardware. The mesh network between the receiver and the speakers means that you don’t need to have a network setup in the home or office.

LG will also be showing off some home theater gear including the SoundPlate that puts speakers in a cabinet that goes under the TV.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
