LG Multiroom audio system to debut at CES 2014

LG to unveil new audio gear at CES 2014

LG has announced a new multiroom home audio system will be coming to CES 2014 along with other audio gear. The products will include the Wireless Audio system NP8740 that allows the user to stream music around the home. The device uses a mesh network and has dual band support.

"Each wireless speaker not only produces rich sound with clarity and depth, but also sends the sound out in multiple directions," LG Electronics reports. "Several speakers can be set up in any combination of rooms, connecting an entire house under a single system."

Since the device uses mesh network technology it can be used in two ways. The system can send the same music to each speaker in the home or send different music to each speaker reports Toms Hardware. The mesh network between the receiver and the speakers means that you don’t need to have a network setup in the home or office.

LG will also be showing off some home theater gear including the SoundPlate that puts speakers in a cabinet that goes under the TV.
