The group which supports gays and lesbians, GLAAD is absolutely furious over A&E’s reinstatement of Phil Robertson. The star of Duck Dynasty was previously suspended from the show due to his controversial remarks.

It’s a very negative world we are living in today. Everybody is anti something and it all reeks of intolerance and prejudice. The bigoted remarks against gays and lesbians aired by Phil Robertson in an interview given to GQ caused a storm in a teacup.

After his suspension from A&E’s Duck Dynasty, the Reality TV star tried to clarify some of the misapprehensions that his exact phraseology may have caused. He said that he was just stating his Biblical beliefs which have stood the test of time. Furthermore, he made one thing very clear. No one has a monopoly on the truth. Christians and conservatives have as much right to their world-view as gays, lesbians and liberals.

However, GLAAD just can’t stand the fact that A&E has taken back the star after pressure mounted from various Christian consumer groups. A massive media campaign began in favor of Phil after he was kicked off the show. Finally, when A&E took him on board once again, GLAAD erupted in protest at the blatant hypocrisy.

The members of the group say that Phil’s language reeks of homophobia and he even said some nasty things about African Americans. After the AIDS epidemic in the 80s and 90s, the LGBT community took quite a lot of abuse. They seem to have become even more sensitive and vocal regarding what they perceive to be unfair discrimination against their practices and beliefs.
