Multiple smartwatch models expected

One of the biggest growth categories in the electronics markets this year has been the smartwatch. There are a number of smartwatch offerings on the market and a bunch of companies are still working to enter the market. One of the companies that will be entering the market is Archos.

Archos will be unveiling some new smartwatches at CES 2014. “Mobile devices have become the center of our life and our demand for instant access to information creates the need for even more interconnectivity,” says Loic Poirier, CEO of ARCHOS. “ARCHOS’ new lineup of connected objects exemplifies the ability to share and access information and represents our vision of creating a universe where all devices complement and work together.”

Digital Trends reports that Archos will have several smartwatch models. The smartwatch in the photo looks like a Pebble smartwatch a bit. It has a rubber strap and appears to have an e-ink screen. The black and silver face gives it a more traditional appearance than the Pebble has with its monotone face.

Archos published a PR that says the smartwatches will start at under £50. There is no indication of what tech the watch will use and what phones it will work with. Hopefully the watch will work with Android and the iPhone.
