No street on earth utilizes money for its fun value more than Las Vegas Boulevard. Thousands descend upon Sin City to live lavishly and spend their dollars towards creating a lasting memory every day. Recently Las Vegas’ ARIA Resort & Casino released a visual checklist filled with the best of the best on The Strip and beyond detailing the luxuries that a million dollars could buy in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas. For those who want to experience the most luxurious, over-the-top way to kick off 2014 TravelsinTaste thought this was a great place to start and then had a few others to add.
Why did ARIA create this list? “Las Vegas is a place of incredible luxury and travelers often come here imagining how far money can really take them in this city. We wanted to visualize that through an info graphic that portrays all of the amazing experiences one million dollars can afford across The Strip and beyond,” said ARIA’s Director of Marketing Derek Schoen. “The over-the-top lifestyle is what makes Vegas Vegas.”
The million-dollar weekend includes travel via private jet, top-tier accommodations in one of ARIA’s 7,000-square-foot Sky Villas, a shopping spree at upscale mall Crystals, selecting two songs for the iconic Fountains of Bellagio, indulging in multi-course meals from celebrity chefs such as Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Masa Takayama, partying like a rock star at the best table in the new nightclub Hakkasan, race car driving and more over-the-top experiences.
ARIA’s list begins with a private jet to the Sky Villas at ARIA. TravelsinTaste asked ARIA Resort & Casino’s Vice President of Hotel Operations, Paul Barry, to explain why the discerning traveler would choose this option, especially for New Year’s Eve . “Travelers come to Las Vegas to celebrate New Year’s Eve because they crave incredible experiences that will set the tone for the rest of the year,” said Paul Berry. “Between the dedicated 24-hour butler services, panoramic views of The Strip’s fireworks and the 7,000 square feet of innovative luxury, ARIA’s Sky Villas will ensure that 2013 concludes in an unforgettable manner for its guests.”/>
We also spoke with Farad Amtrak, Senior Vice President and General Manager of The Shops at Crystals who explained the fascination with shopping for New Year’s Eve, “New Year’s Eve in Vegas is great because people tend get a little more daring with their fashion choices and wear something a little unexpected. The luxury brands at Crystals feature some great statement pieces that would allow a guest to make a splash at any New Year’s event.”
Of course close to our hearts are the meals – ARIA suggested meals at Jean George Steakhouse including certified A-5 Kobe beef and at barMASA including a Masa Toro with Caviar roll among other noteworthy restaurant experiences. Rob Moore, Executive Chef at Jean Georges Steakhouse explained his thoughts on the importance of a New Year’s meal experience. “A memorable meal is a quintessential part of the New Year’s experience – and nothing exemplifies that more than a Las Vegas steakhouse. At Jean Georges Steakhouse, we will prepare a cut of steak that your taste buds will savor for the rest of the year. Top it off with our immense selection of world-class wines and leave no doubt that 2014 will be off to a good start.”
After thorough investigation TravelsinTaste felt a few items were left off of ARIA’s Million Dollar List. If your tastes run more to hamburger than Kobe beef, the Fleurburger 5000 is an excellent option. The foie gras and black truffle-topped Kobe burger is accompanied by a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1995 poured in Ichendorf Brunello stemware, imported from Italy. After the meal, Fleur will ship the glasses to your home along with a personalized note from Chef Hubert Keller. All this decadence for the price of $5,000.
If picking two musical numbers for the Bellagio fountains isn’t satisfying sit center stage at title="This external link will open in a new window">Hyde Bellagio’s patio table overlooking the famed fountains. After the fountains have stopped for the evening, a gold box is hand-delivered to the table along with a menu of songs for your choosing. Within the box, a single red button stands at attention, awaiting your command. With a touch of the button, you’re in control of 4,700 lights, 1,200 individual fountains shooting up to 460 feet high and spanning 1,000 feet, and enough world-class speakers to fill two major concert venues. As the fountains begin swaying to the chosen tune, you can toast the moment with a gold 30-liter bottle of Ace of Spades champagne, the equivalent of 40 champagne bottles, all for a mere $250,000./>
