Moore was married for 50 years to Charles Burris. Her husband was a Los Angeles bus driver who died in 2001.
Moore died at her home in Los Angeles on January 1, 2014. She was 99 years old. She will be missed by so many who saw her as a role model and source of inspiration. May her soul rest in peace.
