Smart Power External Battery Has an App to Keep Track of Charge Level

Typically, when you hook your smartphone up to a portable battery to charge you device on the go, you have no real idea of how long it's going to take to top off your battery. Powerocks has a new external battery that will be on display at CES 2014 called the Smart Power.

The Smart Power comes in six colors and had 5200 mAh of power inside. The battery is intelligent and works with an app available for iOS and Android devices. That app monitors your battery status and will notify you when you need to charge.

The app also calculates the battery capacity and has LED indicators to show how much power it has left. The output has 2.1A so it will work with most tablets and smartphones. The battery measures 4.2" x 1/7" x 1". The Smart Power will be on display during CES. The battery will launch in February for $79.99.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
