The system also has a mic inside for recording audio and a telemetry module. The telemetry module uses a highly sensitive GPS receiver and is hardwired into the vehicle systems. That allows the video to be overlaid with performance data from the car likespeed, lap time, and a map of the racetrack the car is navigating amongother details.
The system was developed in cooperation with Cosworth, the company that provides telemetry systems for CorvetteRacing. Pricing for the system is unknown. The video and data is stored to a SD card located in a slot inside the glove box. The video can be watched when the car is sitting still on the in-dash touchscreen.
Police are hoping the included video can help them to nab a South of South burglar.
