Lenovo unviels two 4K resolution monitors
Lenovo has unveiled a new professional quality computer monitor at CES 2014 today. The monitor is called the ThinkVision Pro2840m. The display is 28-inches in size and has 4K native resolution. The ThinkVision 28 monitor can also be used as an Android-enabled entertainment center.
“Lenovo is set to establish itself as a leading provider of premium display products with two new world class monitors that set the bar for UltraHD performance and great value,” said Victor Rios, vice president and general manager, Think Desktop, Workstation and Visuals, Lenovo. “The ThinkVision Pro2840m is a must have display for professionals looking for ultra-high resolutions and the ThinkVision 28 defines an emerging category of premium monitors with a smart element for ultimate flexibility for tech savvy customers.”
The native resolution of the monitor is 3840 x 2160. Lenovo designed the screen with CAD/CAM, data analysis, or high definition entertainment in mind. While other 4K monitors can cost thousands of dollars, the Lenovo unit is surprisingly reasonable in cost. Lenovo will ship the monitor in April starting at $799.
The ThinkVision 28 has an NVIDIA Tegra processor inside to support the Android operating system. It also has multi-touch interface allowing for the use of Android apps and other content on the screen. The ThinkVision 28 will ship in July for $1199.
