HBO's hit fantasy series Game of Thrones fever is spreading its spell all over the place. And now the fantasy land of Westeros is going to become a reality. HBO is going the launch the DVD of the third season of Game of Thrones on February 18th. And a historical British town is going to celebrate this launch in a unique way.
Kings Landing is the royal capital of the seven kingdoms of Westeros, which will now be a reality for a week. Kings Langley is located around two miles north of Watford, in the county of Hertfordshire just outside of London. This historical town has decided to change its name to Kings Landing for a week in February.
The idea of this name change came in the mind of a Game of Thrones producer when he "heard the town listed as a stop while waiting for a train at London's Euston station," according to Radio Times. And this name change will occur in February in order to celebrate the release of the third season DVD of Game of Thrones.
