Dish also announces Wireless Joey and more
Dish Network has made some very cool announcements at CES 2014 this week. The coolest of the new stuff that Dish has announced is a new set top box called the SuperJoey. The SuperJoey is a set top box that replaces one of the normal Joey units in Hopper while home DVR system.
The SuperJoey adds two more turners to the Hopper allowing the recording of up to eight shows at a time. The system with the SuperJoey connected can record four shows along with all content from major broadcasts networks.
The SuperJoeys are backwards compatible with any Hopper system. Dish also announced the Wireless Joey. This is a set top box designed to be used in a home when coaxial or Ethernet wiring is hard to accomplish. The Wireless Joey includes a Wireless Joey client and Access Point.
This is the perfect set up for anyone with a wall mounted TV. Dish also announced this week that it will be creating a virtual Joey for the PS4 and PS3 game consoles. That app will turn the game consoles into Joey set top boxes.
