Sony brags PS4 outsells Xbox One at CES 2014

Sony took the time during the hectic CES 2014 show to brag about how its new game console, the PS4, is doing against the Microsoft Xbox 360. Reports indicate that Microsoft has sold about 3 million Xbox One consoles so far.

Selling 3 million consoles sounds like good numbers, and it is. Three million Xbox ones sold just doesn't sound that good when you consider that Sony is now claiming that it has sold 4.2 million PS4 consoles reports Mercury News . What is making the PS4 console sell better? Assuming the numbers are accurate there are a couple reasons the PS4 is more popular.

One big benefit that the PS4 has on its side is the fact that it is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One. The PS4 is also available in more countries than the Xbox One is at this time. The PS4 is available in 53 counties compared to the 13 countries where the Xbox One can be purchased. With similar availability the sales figures might be closer.
