Point Break Remake May Add Gerard Butler

The actor Gerard Butler may get to play an important role in the remake of the 1991 thriller “Point Break”. The original cast has Keanu Reeves in it as an undercover FBI agent who plays along with some criminals in order to incriminate them in the end. Patrick Swayze is the foil and bad guy to Keanu Reeves good guy in the movie

Gerard Butler is to take on the persona of Swayze. He is a laid back surfer who is part of a gang that robs banks. Extreme forms of sport will get featured in the film. The movie has acquired a cult following over the years. The violence, difficult stunts and surfer lingo all combine to make the movie a popular one.

The question arises as to whether it is feasible to remake the film. The director of the remake, Ericson Core has already made such hit movies as “The Fast & the Furious” and “Daredevil”.

Meanwhile, many fans of the original cult classic did not want Butler to play any part in the movie. They know that he nearly drowned in a previous surfing attempt, so they are not so sure about his abilities. Many of them took to the social network sites to voice their discontent at the decision to take on Gerard Butler in the new version of the film.
