Anna Paquin is a drug-smuggling mom. Not in reality though. The 31 year old Oscar-winning actress plays the role of a poor single mom Christina, who smuggles drugs in the movie "Free Ride."

"True Blood" star, Anna Paquin is the producer of this movie while her 44 year old husband, Stephen Moyer, was the executive producer. Casm Films is the name of the couple's joint production company. This is the very first time that the couple has worked together on a project. And "Free Ride" is the first movie released through Casm Films.
This movie is actually based upon the late 1970s drug trade that got carried out in Florida. Shana Betz is the screenwriter and director of the movie. The story is actually based on Betz’s real life experiences with her own mother. Anna Paquin's youngest daughter plays the role of an eight year old girl based on Betz.
Anna Paquin talks about "Free Ride" in an interview with CBS News. She said, "Christina is unconventionally just trying to be a good mother. It might not look the same as everybody else's childhood, but she's this incredible survivor."
