cheap car promises 84 mpg on the highway
Over the last few years, it has become quite common for automotive manufacturers to bring their cars to the electronics show. Typically, the focus is on some new tech that will be coming into the cars soon. At the Showstoppers event held at the same time as CES 2014 a company called Elio Motors was showing off an interesting and very cheap car with three wheels.
The car has two wheels in the front and a single wheel in the back. If it actually hits the US market as planned it would be one of the cheapest new cars on the road with a price of around $6800. The car also promises to be very fuel efficient. The car promises to deliver fuel economy of 84 mpg on the highway.
The car would be able to reach 100 miles per hour in 9.6 seconds and deliver 49mpg in city driving. The car uses a cockpit that is more like a motorcycle than a car with the passenger sitting behind the driver rather than beside. It's still unclear if the car will come to market at this time.
