LG Offers Unique iOS-Compatible Fitness Tracking Wristband

Electronics manufacturer LG enters the lucrative fitness and health tracking market by introducing at this year’s CES its new LifeTouch exercise wristband. LifeTouch is a tracking device with an accelerometer and a touchscreen OLED display compatible with Apple's iOS.  The LifeTouch works with many popular fitness platforms such as RunKeeper, MapMyrun, Withings and MyFitnessPal. The device is capable of communicating with LG's television sets, what means that the users can access workout guides when at home.  It is rumored that the device is only compatible with LG TVs that have a built-in camera that is forward-facing

LG's LifeTouch is not only recording the daily number of steps, but also guides a user through exercises, and is compatible with LG's own Heartbeat Headphones. It also has a set of ear buds with a heart rate monitors in them.

LG did not reveal the availability and the expected price of Heartbeat Headphones and LifeTouch. The company promised that it will launch LifeTouch "this year" and that it will be Android and  iOS compatible.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
