LG Offers Unique iOS-Compatible Fitness Tracking Wristband
Electronics manufacturer LG enters the lucrative fitness and health tracking market by introducing at this year’s CES its new LifeTouch exercise wristband. LifeTouch is a tracking devicewith an accelerometer and a touchscreen OLED display compatible with Apple's iOS. The LifeTouch works with many popular fitness platforms such as RunKeeper, MapMyrun, Withings and MyFitnessPal. The device is capable of communicating with LG's television sets, what means that the users can access workout guides when at home. It is rumored that the device is only compatible with LG TVs that have a built-in camera that is forward-facing
LG's LifeTouch is not only recording the daily number of steps, but also guides a userthrough exercises, and is compatible with LG's own Heartbeat Headphones. It also has a set of ear buds with a heart rate monitors in them.
LG did not reveal the availability and the expected price of Heartbeat Headphones and LifeTouch. The company promised that it will launch LifeTouch "this year" and that it will be Android and iOS compatible.
