Jodi Arias Homicide Retrial is Starting in March

The second half of the trial is to begin in the middle of March. Jodi Arias, the Californian waitress was earlier on found guilty of manslaughter. She stabbed her boyfriend at least two dozen times and shot him in the head. Her contention is that it was all done while defending herself from the monster.

And when this was coupled with the supporting evidence that she was abused as a child and by Travis, it led to complications in the final decision. The verdict was delayed and during this time she got another attorney to present her case. The fate of this woman hangs in the balance.

What is not being unanimously decided upon by the jury is whether she ought to be given life imprisonment or just 25 years behind bars. The death penalty has, for the time being, been ruled out. Jodi Arias invoked sympathy after it was revealed that she had been roughly handled by her caretakers. This in itself led to the mitigation in the severity of the punishment. Her family life was a mess so she deserved the benefit of the doubt.

Furthermore, the fact that Jodi Arias is merely 33 years old and has some artistic flair in her, have served to soften the attitudes of the members of the jury. Whatever decision is reached on March 17th, it will be final and Arias will have to accept it whether she likes it or not.
