No contract smartphone aviailble in the US now

A new version of the Motorola Moto G has turned up called the Moto G Google Play Edition. The smartphone is available to purchase right now. The Google Play version of the phone has the same specs as the GSM version with a standard version of Android 4.4 KitKat under the hood.

The Google Play version will come with 8GB of storage for $179 or 16GB of storage for $199 reports PC Mag. The smartphone can be ordered on Google play right now in the US. For now, it is only available in the US.

The smartphone will work on the AT&T and T-Mobile networks. "The Google Play edition phones quickly receive updates of the latest Android software," Google said. "Optimized for the latest apps, more storage for your content and a fast, clean user experience all come standard."

The Moto G boasts a 4.5-inch display with 720p resolution. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and has a 5MP rear camera. The smartphone is also equipped with a 1.3MP front camera.
